Shoe Bones is a seasonal horror-anthology podcast from the Shoe Bones Collective, a group of writers who came together to make something fun and spooky.
Shoe Bones is an exploration and modern retelling of classic horror themes and genres. Each episode is a different horror story, written by various authors. You are taken on a journey through each story by your narrator, Gideon.
Gideon guides you through each story, and lets you peek behind the curtain. And she is having some trouble of her own.
Shoe Bones was created by Morgan and Shane Ormond. The first three episodes were recorded on a Blue Yeti mic in their apartment kitchen. Thanks to the generosity of friends and family, they were able to build a small, customized sound booth where they recorded the final three episodes of season 1.
In May 2020, the pandemic had only just started. Morgan and Shane decided to move forward with this new project regardless, and got their friends together to help develop and write the podcast. Many Covid-19 precautions were taken during recording sessions. It took time, but they were able to complete Season 1 safely.
It is a labor of love, and we are all proud of what we were able to accomplish.
